Unique Characters

Fortunately, this heroic journey is not one you must take on alone! Both treasure hunters bring a unique set of skills that, when combined, allow you to overcome even the most difficult obstacles.

  • Benjamin is the more experienced member of the duo. He boasts a remarkable level of strength, being able to move heavier objects around. He can also help Carol reach ledges that are beyond reach otherwise. His background does not only shine through in the form of brawn, however! Thanks to his past adventures, he’s developed a sense for traps and trickery that may prove fatal if unnoticed.
  • Carol is the youngest of the two. While a bit less experienced than Benjamin in treasure hunting, she’s more agile. This allows her to move more swiftly and even cross gaps that would be impassable for Benjamin.

It’s up to the two of you to decide which character is better suited for the task at hand, but one thing is certain— it will require both of you to fully explore the pyramid and emerge victorious.

A Gripping Story

Mystery of the Scarab takes players on a journey full of twists and turns. The game starts with Benjamin returning to Egypt to find the second half of a golden scarab he found on a previous adventure, where he lost his partner. He meets Carol, who joins him on his quest, but things quickly take a turn when they are trapped in the pyramid by the god Seth. Together, they must face trials and overcome obstacles to escape the pyramid and claim the treasure.

Nostalgic Art Style

Mystery of the Scarab features a nostalgic pixel art style that pays homage to classic games like "The Legend of Zelda." The game's 2D environment is richly detailed and evocative of ancient Egypt, immersing players in the experience.

Captivating Sound Design

The game features a captivating sound design that keeps players on edge as they navigate through the pyramid. The soundtrack combines FM synthesizers that emulate synths and technical limitations from the 90's with sample-based sound and effects libraries. The use of orchestral instruments creates a huge, majestic yet mysterious feeling, while most of the music is based on an Oud melody, which is made using a sample-based Oud library. The combination of different sound design elements creates an immersive experience that players won't forget.

The game is visually stunning, but when opened its resolution is messed up and the sound is super jarring. Also, it's impossible to connect with the other player.

Hey,

Thanks for checking out our game! We're currently working on a few bugs. We'll take your feedback into account while doing so.

Could you be more specific on the "impossible to connect to other players part" cause as long as the 2 of you are on the same network this should work.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and feedback!
